SUMMER DAY CAMPS

Index Archers brings the excitement of archery to the outdoors with our camp program.  Archers earn achievement medals by participating in fun shooting activities, expand their knowledge of archery, enjoy the thrill of shooting, and discover how archery was meant to be experienced – outdoors!

All equipment is provided and routinely sanitized; however, you will need a mask/facial covering, sunblock, bug spray, water, and snacks. Spectators will need a chair, and there is room if you want to bring a canopy for shade.

The outdoor range is located in nearby Auburn, NH.  Details will arrive with your confirmation.

Being an outdoor sport, the range format is conducive to social distancing.  Each archer has their own bale with extra room, making social distancing easy to maintain.  When campers and families are able to maintain social distance outdoors, masks/facial coverings are not required;  however, they ARE required when walking to and from the archery field, restroom, and anywhere you may not be able to maintain a six foot distance.  Thank you for your understanding.

Day 1:

·         Activity 1 – Range Layout and Safety – We will review the layout of the outdoor range as well as the rules for safety.  Safety first!

·         Activity 2 – Equipment – We will review the equipment used, the parts of the bow and arrows, and how those parts help with shooting.

·         Archery challenge!

Day 2:

·         Activity 3 – Steps of Shooting – There are 11 basic steps in the shooting form that archers focus on to set up a good shot.  We will review those steps and delve into the details necessary to shoot well.

Day 3:

·         Activity 4 – Shot Execution – Setting up a good shot and making that shot happen are the two components every shot can be divided into. With Shot Execution, archers learn how to make the shot count.
